PETALING JAYA: The first-year results of the four-year National Consumer Campaign, also known as 3K, showed its objectives achieved, says its national coordinator, Datuk Paul Selva Raj.
"Last year, we conducted 171 training programmes throughout Malaysia and reached about 14,000 people. This as an achievement," he said when announcing the first-year report at the Federation of Malaysian Consumers Association (Fomca) office here yesterday.
Themed 'Change Begins With Me', the campaign is aimed at changing the mindset and behaviour of the public towards consumer issues.
"Participants were evaluated by quantitative and qualitative measures. We also followed up with participants about a month later to find out how much positive change the training manage to instill."
The campaign, launched on May 6, 2008 and ends in 2012, involves five partners, namely Fomca, Malaysian Youth Council, National Council for Women Organisations, Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Service and Petronas, which became a partner this January.
